What started as a curiosity about Beat Saber eventually became a passion for mapping, teaching, and building a place where anyone can learn to create.
Read My Story ↓Like a lot of people, I picked up Beat Saber because it looked fun...
Before long I found myself discovering custom songs and wondering how people actually made them.
That curiosity ended up becoming something much bigger.
Opening the Beat Saber editor was exciting... for about five minutes.
Suddenly everything had a name I'd never heard before. BPM, NJS, lighting, mapping terminology, workflows... it felt like everyone already knew the language except me.
Looking back, the hardest part wasn't learning how to map. It was figuring out what I was supposed to learn first.
Over time I became more comfortable with mapping. The editor stopped feeling intimidating and started feeling creative. But the more time I spent in Beat Saber communities, the more I noticed something.
New players weren't struggling because mapping was too difficult.
They were struggling because they were asking the same questions I had months earlier:
The problem wasn't a lack of talent. It was the lack of one clear place to learn.
When I first started mapping, I wished there was one place that could guide me from the very beginning without assuming I already knew the terminology, the tools, or the workflow.
A place where beginners could learn at their own pace and where experienced mappers could keep growing.
A place that wasn't just another collection of tutorials, but a structured path from playing Beat Saber to creating something you could be proud of.
Every guide, every download, every course, and every resource on this site is built with one goal in mind:
I'm still building it. I'm still learning. And I hope you'll be part of the journey.
While Beat Saber and mapping have become a huge part of my life, they're definitely not the only things I enjoy.
I'm currently a university student studying film, broadcasting, and digital media, and when I'm not working on HelloTealie you'll usually find me experimenting with new projects, learning something completely unrelated, or spending time with friends.
I love building things whether that's websites (like this one!), creative tools or resources that help people learn something new. HelloTealie just happens to combine a lot of those passions into one project.
At the end of the day, I'm just someone who enjoys making cool things and sharing what I learn along the way.
Whether you found HelloTealie because you wanted to learn Beat Saber mapping, improve your skills, or simply stumbled across the site out of curiosity... thank you for taking the time to read my story.
HelloTealie is still growing, and so am I. Every guide I write, every video I create, and every resource I build comes from wanting to make this journey a little easier for the next person who decides to become a creator.
I hope something here inspires you to build your first map, share your creativity, or simply enjoy the process a little more than I did when I was starting out.
Thank you.
