I get asked this a lot:
“What mods are you using?”
“How does your game look like that?”
“What setup do you use?”
So instead of answering that in 20 different places… here’s everything in one spot.
This is my full Beat Saber setup, including:
- the mods I use
- my settings
- my headset + equipment
- and the tools I use for recording and content
Nothing here is required to enjoy the game. But these are the things that help me:
- play more comfortably
- improve more consistently
- and create the content you see on my channel
My game is modded, so if you’re new to modding, start here first: How to Mod Beat Saber on PC

Mods I Use
These are the mods I use the most for gameplay, quality of life, and content creation. Some are practical, some are just fun, and a few I genuinely can’t imagine playing without anymore.
You do NOT need all of these. Start simple.
Most of my setup evolved slowly over time as I figured out what actually improved my experience.
Core / Essential Mods
These are the behind-the-scenes mods that make custom songs and most other mods work properly. You usually won’t interact with these directly, but they’re the foundation of a modded setup.
- BSIPA
- SongCore
- BS Utils
- BeatSaverSharp
- ScoreSaberSharp
- SongDetailCache
- LeaderboardCore
- SiraUtil
- AssetBundleLoadingTools
- BSAssetLib
- BeatSaberMarkupLanguage
- DiscordCore
- SabersCore
- System.IO.Compression.FileSystem
- System.IO.Compression
- Yoga
A lot of these are framework/dependency mods required for other mods to function correctly and will download automatically in a mod manager like BSManager if you select a mod that requires them.
Gameplay Mods
These are the mods I actively use every session and would recommend to almost anyone modding Beat Saber for the first time.

My In-Game Settings
Mods are only part of it.
A lot of how the game feels comes down to settings and small changes here can make a big difference in how easy (or hard) the game feels.
A lot of settings come down to preference, but these are the ones that make the game feel the most readable and comfortable for me.
Visuals
Reduce Debris → ON
- Why? Debris always fly into my face and are more of a distraction than a help for me.
Environment Effects → ALL
- Why? I like pretty lights, and honestly Beat Saber feels empty without them.
Gameplay
Colors → Teal / Purple / Pink
- Why? No particular reason really… I just like them.
Advanced HUD → ON
- Why? The advanced HUD gives you all sorts of helpful information about your combo and score multiplier.
My Equipment (Headset + Setup)
You definitely don’t need expensive gear to enjoy Beat Saber, but here’s the setup I currently use.
VR Headset → Meta Quest 3s
I was able to get an amazing deal on this headset a year or so ago. It’s lightweight and small so it’s easy to move in. I traded out the stock strap for a sturdier one from Amazon and that’s made it much more comfortable for longer play sessions.
PC Specs
Just the main ones that matter for graphics:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: GeForce RTX 5070TI

Recording & Content Tools
If you’ve ever wondered how I get different camera angles or cleaner-looking footage, this is the stuff doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes.
Recording Software
OBS Studio
- Why? OBS is super straightforward to use and allows me to bring in multiple video and audio sources at once. It also allows me to separate my audio tracks so I can have one for in-game audio and one for my voiceovers. This way I can balance them properly in editing later.
LIV
- Why? LIV allows me to render my avatar in the virtual space and apply compositing and fake lighting easily.
Cameras
I have two primary camera angles I use repeatedly:
- POV → This is my point of view directly from Beat Saber.
- Third person → This is an external virtual camera run through LIV.
These two cameras are recorded side by side in OBS meaning I can switch between them at will in editing.
Editing Software
These are my primary choices for all my content:
Adobe Premiere
- Why? I’m a film student and this is what I’ve been using for years so I’m comfortable with it.
Adobe After Effects
- Why? This is mainly for series logos or special text effects. Basically everything Premiere isn’t capable of on its own.
Adobe Audition
- Why? Audition has direct integration with Premiere and allows me to seamlessly edit and clean up my audio without juggling files.

Why I Use This Setup
The goal of my setup isn’t to make the game “look cool” (although that’s a bonus).
It’s to:
- reduce visual clutter
- improve readability
- stay comfortable during longer sessions
- and make improvement feel more consistent
A lot of this comes down to preference. But if something here helps you feel more in control while playing? It’s probably worth trying.
Final Thoughts
You don’t need a perfect setup to get better at Beat Saber. But having the right tools can make things:
- clearer
- more comfortable
- and way less frustrating
If you’re trying to improve, experiment with things here. Try what works. Ignore what doesn’t.
And build a setup that fits you.
